Money and power speech
(Josh Sewell,Elizabeth Lee, Aj)
“The real reason people want to be rich isn’t so they can buy stuff. It’s so they can have power over others.” said Trent Hamm. Money and Power go hand and hand with each other. People want influence and respect from others and, they see that people with money have both. This is why many people want to be wealthy.
Famous singer and songwriter kendrick lamar sings about money and power in his song “Backseat freestyle” His lyrics go “ All my life i want money and power, respect my mind or die from lead shower.” He sings this because he believes that money brings people power and power influences people. Money runs the show.
Money is very influential. If you look at politics and governments, the countries and leaders with the most money often have the most power over others. An example of that is when a man named Grayson Bell went to a conference. He says that a politician told him that the only ideas that make it into bills and make a difference are the ones that can get support. Your ideas have to appease the people with money. If people with money don't support your idea, your ideas don’t get heard. If your ideas go against people with money, they have the power destroy you. Money gives people the power to decide what stays and what goes.
Gaining a substantial amount of money consistently through hard work could be equivalent to gaining power. Corporations and industry groups spend billions of dollars each year to gain access to decision makers in government, all in an attempt to influence their thinking. Without money they would not have the power to do this.
We slave for money. Without an economy what else would drive us forward into having a better life? What other than money would want to make a lazy teenage boy want to go work for someone. What everyone wants most costs money. The education we get leads us to a career for a passion we have. An example of that is striving to get through school so when your mature enough you’re able to make a good living. When you put it all together and see what money does to us, you realize that it’s the biggest power of all.
